Kwanzaa is an African-Americans celebration of life from 26 December to 1 January.

The seven principles (nguzo saba) of Kwanzaa utilize Kiswahili words: umoja (unity), kujichagulia (self-determination), ujima (collective work and responsibility), ujamaa (cooperative economics), nia (purpose), kuumba (creativity), and imani (faith). Although the holiday is celebration 7 days long, the principles should be lived by daily.
