Kwanzaa is an African-Americans celebration of life from 26 December to 1 January.
It is based in 7 principles. The seven principles (nguzo saba) of Kwanzaa utilize Kiswahili words: Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (cooperative economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity), and Imani (faith). Although the holiday is celebration 7 days long, the principles should be lived by daily.
